The mission of Spare Change and the Homeless Empowerment Project (HEP) is to play a role in ending homelessness in our community by providing income, skill development and self-advocacy opportunities to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. While providing these opportunities we encourage all who participate in our programs to become involved in the governance of our community-led organization. It is our belief that people who are experiencing homelessness, when provided with encouragement and accessible opportunities for self-advancement, have the ability to create lasting and positive change for ourselves and our community. |
